collective cooks and social change
The project culminates in a community lunch/supper. The meal is organised in a ‘pop up’ framework gravitating from community gardens, backyards, boreens, kitchens and other common areas. This project looks at the interdependence of community, food and generational wisdom. Outcomes of such social exchange encourage citizen action and civic agriculture, using past inherited knowledge to look towards a sustainable future and alternative economies. These creative interventions create a space for conversations within local communities on environmentalism and sustainability as well as serving to advocate for collective action.
