Calli Collective works with the local and looks at the interdependence of community, food and generational wisdom. Questions are raised such as where does your food come from? Who is involved in its production? We are asking the public to consider local food sourcing and “grow your own" gardening, and to consider such topics as: What is the cost of global food sourcing? How did we get here?

By creating a space for conversation within local communities and encouraging citizen action, we aim to open up discussion on topics such as civic agriculture, biodiversity and food security. This is an opportunity to share knowledge and rural wisdom through public engagement. A coming together to reconnect, learn, unlearn and grow.

WHO'S IN THE POT?
The collective consists of different participants and ingredients depending on the setting and season.
Calli Collective deals with global issues on a very local level. It does this by building community around food sharing while raising awareness on topics of food security and environmental concerns relevant to today's current climate. It is a call to action in localized food systems. This is a collaborative arts project with food and people at its core.
In past generations food and the environment were both respected for giving sustenance. Food is survival as well as a form of connection. Food is people, we are inseparable. Calli Collective is interested in how we form communities around food, with the connection between people, food and the local environment.
